This week has been one of saying goodbye to Rachel, Adam and the girls as they returned to Oklahoma. We got to spend a week with them which was wonderful! Christmas is such a different thing when there are little ones around to enjoy it with.
I always get very focused on organization during this week of the year. As I put away the Christmas decorations I go through things and decide what I really need/want to keep and what can be passed on. That always seems to spur a cleaning/organizing binge. This year has been no different. (I think we'll be holding a garage sale in the very near future.) It's amazing what we accumulate over time.
I think this year is going to be one where we really downsize the "stuff". My dilemma will be how to curb my attachment to dishware and linens. I mean, really, can you ever have too much of either of these?? :)
I have been thinking a lot about the simple things in life. My blog is titled "Simple Home" for a reason. I love creating a restful, quiet refuge for family and friends. Reducing the distractions, (tv, clutter, disorganization, etc.) helps accomplish that. We've become such a busy, hurried society. So much distracts us and demands our attention that we rarely stop to take the time enjoy time with those we love.
As you look to the coming year, what can you do to simplify your life? Hopefully, this blog will give you ideas and inspiration to help you accomplish that.
May your new year be blessed, healthy, happy and restfully simple!
